Arne Mehrkens MD, EMBA

Dr. Mehrkens is a Senior Staff Spine Surgeon at the University Hospital Basel in Switzerland and an accomplished surgeon-scientist in orthopedic surgery. Following a fellowship in complex spine surgery at the University of Toronto, he initiated the Intervertebral Disc Research Team, focusing on tissue engineering and regenerative therapies for degenerative disc disease. He leads the Disc Regeneration Lab, translating basic science research into novel clinical treatments for spinal disorders while actively training surgical fellows and medical students.
